Daycare Center
A typical day at the daycare center usually starts at 9:00 AM. However, for volunteers who are willing to wake up early, there is a unique opportunity to join the morning pickup. At around 6:00 AM, the placement supervisor drives a minivan into nearby slum areas to pick up children from their homes. The children arrive at the center around 8:00 AM.
Upon arrival, volunteers help the children change out of their old clothes—which are often worn in poor conditions—and into clean clothes provided by the center. Volunteers may also assist with washing and drying the children’s clothes using the center’s facilities.
Classes begin at 9:00 AM and include both structured learning and fun activities. Volunteers support basic English and math lessons, help organize games, and create a positive atmosphere for learning. At 11:00 AM, it is lunchtime, and volunteers assist in feeding the children and ensuring they eat properly.
After lunch, the children take a nap, with volunteers helping to settle them down. During this time, volunteers can take their own lunch break, usually eating meals prepared or packed from their accommodation. The break typically lasts until 2:00 PM.
Afternoon classes resume from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. At the end of the day, children change back into their original clothes, and the minivan takes them home to their families.

On some days, volunteers have the opportunity to visit the slum communities where the children live. This provides deeper insight into their daily challenges and living conditions.
Many of the children come from extremely difficult backgrounds. Some are forced by their families to work on the streets to earn money. The program aims to break this cycle by providing free meals, education, and care. In addition to food, children receive basic hygiene support such as haircuts, nail trimming, bathing, and clean clothing.
The placement also works closely with parents, encouraging them to send their children to school. In exchange, families may receive food support and educational materials. This system has helped many children access education, with some even progressing to university level.
